Using woods like Mesquite, Tom and Kathy design and craft unique table and floor lamps, boxes and purses among other creations in their shop in the mountains of Colorado.  The couple's artistry with wood has been shown at numerous art and craft shows in Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming and they have won some awards along the way. 

 

What has turned heads toward the Sayre's work is their unique way of inlaying with turquoise nuggets and making it look as if the turquoise "grew" in the wood.  Bark inclusions, natural checks and fissures are used for aesthetic purpose and expression.  Their process consists of using proven methods of hand selecting each piece of wood for its special purpose and hand-crafting each piece with extraordinary care and attention to detail.  Every one of their artworks is given a hand rubbed finish.  Each piece is an original and is signed and dated.
